So you want to spend a season on beautiful Block Island?
There are some things you should know before packing your
bags.
We are located 12 miles off the coast of Rhode Island.
To work here you will need to live here as commuting would
not be a possibility.
We have a year round ferry service that runs from
Point Judith, Rhode Island.
There are also ferries from New London (CT) and Montauk (on
the tip of Long Island, NY) in season.
Housing on the island is very difficult to secure because
of our small size and popularity.
Many jobs (and some of ours) do come with summer housing
for a weekly rental fee if you are employed with us full
time.
You will find it to be very basic and shared with another
person.
In order to apply for a position with our company we would
need a resume with references,
and a commitment of a minimum of
3 1/2 months, but preferably 4 months.
We have several job opportunities each season.
Our season begins in May and ends in October.
The positions that include housing are:
housekeepers, moped/bike rental agents, and kitchen
help (chefs, prep cooks, dishwashers).
We have positions in our restaurants as well
that do not include housing such as;
waitresses, hostesses, & bus people.
Once you get to Block Island our first aim is to make all
our wonderful guests feel comfortable and welcome,
and second to have a great time while we are here!
We look forward to having you on our team!
